Motivate Children to Earn Better Grades

DO YOU WANT TO MOTIVATE YOUR CHILD TO EARN BETTER GRADES IN SCHOOL? ARE YOU TIRED OF YOUR CHILD BRINGING HOME C’S, D’S, AND F’s AND READY TO BE GREETED WITH THOSE A’S AND B’S? MAYBE YOUR CHILD IS HAVING DIFFICULTY IN A PARTICULAR CLASS AND YOU WANT TO ENCOURAGE HIM/HER TO TRY HARDER.

It’s time to Take action. Take control.™ Encourage your child to bring home those A’s. Let GOAL PATROL® motivate your child to earn better grades.

Below are 2 ideas on how to use the Bracelets:

bracelet for motivation, goal-setting ,motivational

-          Idea 1 (a simple goal plan): Replace your child’s Motivational Bracelet for the next one each time he/she brings home an A! So it doesn’t matter if your child also happens to bring home the not-so-attractive B’s, C’s, D’s, and F’s. Simply each time an A arrives home, your child is due for the next Bracelet. 5 A’s total = time for a gift!

-          Idea 2 (a more challenging goal plan): Give each letter grade a value.

For example:

A =   Move 1 step forward

B =   Remain on the current step

C =   Move 1 step backward

D =   Move 2 steps backward

F =   Move 3 steps backward

So, let’s pretend your child is just beginning the system and gets an A on Step 1. Replace Motivational Bracelet 1 with Motivational Bracelet 2. Now, during Step 2 if your child brings home a/an:

A =   Your child proceeds to Step 3

B =   Your child remains on Step 2

C, D, or F =   Your child goes back to Step 1

In the above scenario, the reason C, D, and F all go back to Step 1 is that there is no other step before Step 1. However, if your child is on Step 5 and receives a/an:

A =   Goal achieved - time for a nice gift!

B =   Your child remains on Step 5

C =   Your child goes back to Step 4

D =   Your child goes back to Step 3

F =   Your child goes way back to Step 2!

Basically, the game isn’t over until your child gets an A on Step 5.

If your child already earns pretty decent grades, you may consider setting the following values to make this method even more challenging:

A =   Move 1 step forward

B =   Move 1 step backward

C =   Move 2 steps backward

D =   Move 3 steps backward

F =   Move 4 steps backward

With this set of values, each grade below an A is treated a bit more harshly. This breakdown can bring your child all the way from Step 5 to Step 1!

These are just 2 ideas on how to use the Bracelets to motivate children to earn better grades in school. Be creative. Maybe this is a good opportunity for you and your child to join forces and create a fun, viable goal plan.
